All at Sea

The sixth and final book by former seafarer Emmanuel Makarios is a spectacular tribute to those who have chosen a career at sea. Stories compiled from interviews conducted over several years with 16 men and women who have had a wide range of duties provide a facinating insight into what it was like: from the days of sailing ships to modern bulk carriers and a lot of vessels in between.

Much of what is related now belongs to history as the scene has changed hugely in recent years.
