In Coral Sea is the story of the New Guinea Australia Line which was formed in 1952 and renamed Chief Container Service in 1977.
The first 25 years of the story is told through the edited memoirs of the late Martin Speyer, a John Swire & Sons executive who set up the Company as a subsidiary of the China Navigation Company. It traces the development and history of the Line with the knowledge and insights of its CEO, combined with local colour and anecdotes.
Part 2 of the book extends the history to the present day followed by a collection of sea-going memories of former ships' officers. The book concludes with an illustrated fleet list.
134 pages with 37 black and white photographs published in conjunction with China Navigation Company.
